The 2009 OGAE Second Chance Contest was the 23rd OGAE Second Chance Contest, organised between members of international Eurovision Song Contest fan club OGAE to select the best song not to make it to the Eurovision Song Contest through their national finals. The contest was held in Stockholm, Sweden after Sanna Nielsen won the 2008 Contest for Sweden with "Empty Room". 20 countries participated in the contest, with songs that failed to win their televised national selections. Malta was to originally compete with "Avalon" by Georgina & Ruth Casingena, however OGAE Malta has since decided to withdraw.
