Oil Spillage: Its Menace and Effects on Human Health

Nutrition is an important aspect of human life. Good diet or proper feeding provides the body with balanced nutrient that helps the body in its growth, repairs and proper functioning. The body's need of energy is equally made available. These nutritional materials are obtained from agricultural products sourced or obtained from the soil via planting. Planted agricultural produce needs or require some vital ingredients for its to yield adequately. Such vital ingredients include good or fertile soil as the case may be, water supply, good weather, proper tilling etc. When the soil or water or air that could have assisted the farmers in having good harvest are polluted either by gas flaring or oil spillage or their water source to the people polluted due to heavy metal problem leading to health problem to the people. This needs to be seriously investigated in order to reduce the high rate of mortality being recorded among people living in such area, most especially, among children, elderly and the nursing mothers. This book has been written to give an overview of the importance of nutrition to human health and the damaging effect of oil spillage to the existence of human race.

Adegbola Oladele Dauda, dottore di ricerca, è nato il 6 agosto 1973 a Ibadan, nello Stato di Oyo, in Nigeria. Ha frequentato la Abadina Primary School, l'Abadina College e l'Università di Ibadan per la sua formazione universitaria e attualmente è docente presso l'Università di Ilorin, nello Stato del Kwara, in Nigeria. Dopo 3 anni di dottorato, il dottor Dauda ha all'attivo oltre 15 pubblicazioni.
