On immigrant earnings in Germany

In the wake of terrorist attacks and banking emergencies across Europe, the refugee crisis looms as both an additional strain on the economy and a potential cure to other societal problems such as the pension-fund mismanagement. The contributions of a migrant in economic terms is driven by various factors-- from experience to language skills-- which ones rank higher? Using data from the German Institute for Economic Research and techniques that reduce model uncertainty, the author approaches this question by probing into trends in earnings of German immigrant population as a whole.
