On The Fence

One of the most relevant and hotly contested topics in the United States is the issue of illegal immigration. This documentary attempts to humanize the individuals who protect the United States-Mexico borders, revealing that those who serve are more than the mechanically law abiding alien roundup crew often portrayed in traditional media. "On the Fence" is an attempt at understanding the complexities and humanizing elements of U.S. immigration enforcement through the perspective of a former Border Patrol agent.

Estevan Medrano was born in Brownsville, Texas. He was awarded his MFA in Film Production in 2014 from the University of North Texas following the completion of his documentary "On the Fence." He currently teaches online courses and is always seeking new media projects to participate in.
