On the use of alcohol in hospital kitchens

There is no standardised approach to dealing with alcohol in communal catering in Austria. On the one hand, all professional associations are against its use, but on the other hand, there are no binding regulations. Preventing unwanted alcohol consumption should be a minimum standard in the catering for sick people. Decision-makers in politics and healthcare can and should address the issue, commission further research and/or propose and implement binding regulations.
