High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! The one-state solution, also known as the binational solution, is a proposed approach to resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Though increasingly debated in academic circles, especially outside the United States, this approach remained outside the range of alternatives in official efforts to resolve the conflict as well as in mainstream analysis, where it is eclipsed by the two-state solution, most recently agreed upon in principle by the government of Israel and the Palestinian Authority at the November 2007 Annapolis Conference. In November 2009, Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat proposed the adoption of the one-state solution if Israel didn't halt settlement construction.
