For the development and flourishment of an economy, Small and Medium Enterprises play a marvelous role. Small and Medium Enterprises are considered to be the building block of an economy. Viewing the Pakistan scenario, 3.2 million SMEs are operating in Pakistan. The success of large scale industry hugely depends on prosperous small scale sector. The basic operations of Small and Medium Enterprises in Pakistan are as follows: Arrangement of finance to fulfill the timely needs of credit, extended working hours, flexible operations, profit seeking attitude, organizational size, instant certification, instantly credit availability due to personal contact in lending institution, supply of clear and accurate information regarding products/services etc. if these operations will properly maintain, definitely SMEs growth will be enhanced.
