Optical Millimeter Wave Generation - A Research Perspective

This first edition provides the basic material for a senior level or graduate course in theory and application of optical millimeter wave (mmw) generation technology. It will also serve as working reference for practicing engineers dealing with the design and development of components, transmission equipment, test instruments and fiber cable for optical mmw transmission system. This includes the introduction of fundamentals of optical mmw generation, basic concept of mmw and its importance in the modern communication. This book also includes the overview of optical fiber used for the transmission of mmw and the block diagram for the generation mmw. The comparison of microwave and mmw gives a better idea regarding the wave ranges. The different topologies by using Mach Zehnder modulator (MZM) for the generation of mmw gives a basic idea for making the experimental setup for the beginners and elementary mathematical equations are also provided to get information about the MZM and the generation of mmw in this edition makes the fresher easily understandable.
