This book plunges you into the vast and innovative field of additive manufacturing, focusing on laser fusion on a powder bed for the production of medical implants. We explore the numerical simulation of the SLM/LBM process applied to a Ti-6Al-4V titanium superalloy femoral stem using Simufact Additive software. In addition, the application of topological optimization with lattice structures on a femoral component of a knee prosthesis is studied. This optimization, carried out using nTopology software, is validated by a static analysis performed with ANSYS, guaranteeing the reliability of the results obtained.

Autorentext

Amal TOUMI, a doctoral student at the École Nationale d'Ingénieurs de Sousse and holder of a master's degree in mechanical engineering from ISSAT Sousse, is carrying out her research under the supervision of Dr. Mounir FRIJA at UGPMM (UR17ES43). She is focusing on the optimization of SLM 3D printing parameters for medical applications, in particular prostheses.
