Optimization of classical and solid transportation problems

In this book, I have developed new strategies for obtaining initial basic feasible solution of transportation problems which will be helpful in reducing the cost of transportation.The new strategies are based on some statistical techniques such as mean deviation and standard deviation. Next I have given divide sum method to find initial basic feasible solution of transportation problems. Furthermore, I have tried to extend Vogel's approximation method to find initial basic feasible solution of solid transportation problem. Similarly in many cases we cannot transport whole demand in a single shift due to certain circumstances. So I have tried a method for finding optimal solution of two stage solid transportation problem.
