Optimization of Hydropower Plant Expansion: Nile Basin, Ethiopia

One of the problems faced by planners when designing an expansion plan for water resource systems is selecting the sequence of projects that satisfies a given demand at minimum cost, some prescribed time in the future. There is also a need to develop hydropower that is economically, socially, and environmentally sustainable. This book introduces optimal scheduling that minimizes net present cost by applying dynamic programming.
