This work develops and analyzes optimization technique for obtaining a geometry shape of classical HAWT blades based on set of criteria. It allows designer to determine the weight of such factors as power coefficient, sound pressure level and cost function in the overall process of blade shape optimization. Optimization method applies Desirability function. It was never used before in that kind of technical problems, and in this sense it can claim to originality of research. To do analysis and optimization processes more convenient the software application was developed.

Daniel Perfiliev graduated from Moscow Power Engineering Institute and Lappeenranta University of Technology with Master degree in field of Renewable Energy. Currently works in Laboratory of Fluid dynamics in Lappeenranta University of Technology for his Ph.D degree. Main research area is wind energy and wind turbine aerodynamics.
