ORBITAL COMPLICATIONS OF BACTERIAL SINUSITIS

Because of their location and their close relationship with the orbit, sinus infections can quickly lead to serious orbital complications, which can be life threatening. Thus, the orbital complications of sinusitis constitute a diagnostic and therapeutic emergency. The use of CT scans can help guide the management of these complications. Early management with adapted treatment allows a good clinical evolution and an improvement of the prognosis.
