Among the core and elective subjects, Other Learning Experiences (OLE) is also required under the NSS (New Senior Secondary) Curriculum. Schools are required to make use of 15% of the lesson time for OLE in different areas. They include Aesthetic Development, Physical Development, Career-related Experiences, Community Service, Moral and Civic Education. Under the three-year New Senior Secondary Curriculum, Other Learning Experiences is very important to students because it takes at least 15% to 35% of Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education. The minimum lesson time required is 405 hours for students throughout the three years of NSS education.
