The book provides a smooth, yet academic examination of the relationship between travel wrting and the concept of Otherness, drawing on a multi-disciplanary critical background, ranging from literary theory, sociology, psychology, to the present insights from cultural studies. The focus f the present book is laid upon Wyndham Lewis's account of his travels throughout Morocco, which he entitled "A Journey into Barbary". Therefore, the author unveils the techniques and strategies that demonstrate 'Otherness' in Lewis's representation of Moroccans.
