Otilio Galíndez, (Yaritagua, Yaracuy, December 13, 1935 - Maracay, Aragua, June 13, 2009) was a Venezuelan musician and composer. From an early age Galindez demonstrated musical inclinations, and supported by his mother in song and poetry in 1957 he was brought to Caracas where he worked at the Central University of Venezuela, forming part of the University choir, with teachers like: Antonio Estévez, Inocente Carreño and Modesta Bor,which was an experience that motivated his musical creation to go even farther than before. The young composer of fine music stood out quickly. In the oeuvre of Otilio Galíndez, christmas songs are predominate. His first composition was La Restinga, a Folk Christmas song.
