Our experiences in use of autologous blood and autologous blood products

It is increasingly used in the industrialized countries of Western Europe and the United States autologous transfusion (AT) of blood and / or autologous blood (AB) products. Opportunity analysis use of autologous blood products (ABP) in peacetime and wartime. In peacetime, all AT strategies are applicable: planned preoperative collection autologous blood (PPK-AB) and / or blood components; acute normovolemic chemodilution (ANH); intraoperative autologous blood rescue (IABR); rescue postoperative shedding blood; autologous platelet administration; application of autologous fibrin glue (AFG) and autologous tissue adhesives (ATA); collection and storage of autologous red blood cells and autologous fresh plasma. The most applicable strategies for emergencies and war are: ANH, intraoperative rescue of AT, rescue of postoperatively shed blood and application of AFG and ATA. In peacetime, PPK-AB was used in 314 adult patients planned for elective surgery.
