Out-of-balance development process

Grinding is one of the ancient activities used by man to synthesise materials. Indeed, grinding consists in reducing pieces of solid materials of a given size to a smaller size. The principle is the fragmentation of the pieces by the mechanical action of stronger parts, usually metallic. Mechanosynthesis or high-energy grinding is an elaboration technique accessible to any research laboratory, given its ease of experimental implementation and the modest cost of the equipment. The aim of this book is to collect and discuss the different concepts related to this non-equilibrium technique.

Dr Fatma Hadef est enseignante-Chercheur au département de Physique, Université 20 Août 1955-Skikda, Algérie. Elle est titulaire d'un doctorat en Sciences, filière: Physique. Elle est intéressée par l'élaboration et la caractérisation des nanomatériaux. Dr Hadef a publié plusieurs articles et chapitres dans des maisons d'éditions internationales.
