Overcoming the Challenges of Fibered Corono-Radicular Reconstructions

Fibrated coronal-radicular restorations remain an attractive option for restoring a pulpless tooth showing some degree of decay. However, as with any treatment, complications can arise, sometimes necessitating the removal of these reconstructions to carry out a new endodontic treatment. This procedure is often dreaded by practitioners due to its complexity and the need for careful evaluation to assess feasibility, benefits, challenges and associated risks.Today, a range of techniques is available to carry out this procedure. Although ultrasonic inserts are widely used and reproducible, successful removal is not always guaranteed, which may necessitate the use of other complementary devices.Thanks to their expertise and experience, dentists can combine different techniques to remove coronal-radicular restorations while preserving tooth tissue as far as possible and ensuring tooth longevity.
