The situation in many parts of the world is characterized by injustice. As high-rise buildings are being constructed in the cities, there is a ruthless demolition of the houses of the urban poor communities. The capitalists meanwhile boast that they are supported by the Church in their advocacy of private property. He is a Filipino Carmelite and the director of the Institute of Spirituality in Asia (ISA),a research and academic institute for the scholarly study of spirituality. In 2006, he finished his Ph.D. in Empirical Theology at the Radboud University in Nijmegen, Netherlands. Currently, he is a professor of spirituality and theology in the Philippines.
