Paradise is where I am

This book outlines the search for paradise. In this sense, it begins with an introduction explaining how the concept of paradise became a topic of interest and how the initial question was formulated. The book then discusses various interpretations of paradise and attempts to trace its identity across different times and places. The book is divided into three main parts. The first part deals with different definitions of paradise: starting with its original linguistic use, it looks at ancient Oriental gardens and symbolism in myth and religion. The cultural-historical change of the term is also discussed. Subsequently, the meaning of paradise in the media is examined. The second main part is devoted to second-hand definitions that are linked to personal perspectives. Reference is also made to responses from artistic positions. The third main part deals with the description of the exhibition, which was created using an experimental approach based on the aspects and sources mentioned above.

Laura Krok was born in Salzburg in 1988. She lives and works in Salzburg/Vienna. She studied spatial and design strategies at the University of Art and Design Linz and product-service system design at the Politecnico di Milano. The artist/designer/strategist Laura Krok has already been represented once with an artistic intervention at the Tabakfabrik in Linz.
