In recent years, there is a gradual shift from sequential computing to parallel computing. Nowadays, nearly all computers are of multicore processors. To exploit the available cores of modern day computers, parallel computing becomes necessary. The purpose of this book is to provide details of working mechanism of different parallelization frameworks. In the process of observing the parallel frameworks few of these frameworks are also parallelized in this book using a set of well-known programs to determine best way to parallelize a program. This introductory book is designed for programmers interested in improving the performance of the differently designed (using different techniques) parallel code by utilizing multiple processors. The book emphasizes popular concepts of parallel programming and tries to find out the best suitable technique of parallelization. The prerequisites for comprehending the knowledge provided in the book are assumed that the reader should be introduced well with single-processor programming experience and the ability to follow simple program examples in the C programming language.
