Parental Alienation Syndrome

This book deals with the issue of Parental Alienation Syndrome (PAS) as a factor in weakening community relations. To this end, it starts from the premise that the family is the primary social institution, which generates and prepares human capital, responsible for the initial transmission of immaterial values to build the personality, as preparation for social life. SAP is a phenomenon that directly affects the individual, who is considered the protagonist of developmental actions in favour of the community to which they belong. Along these lines, reference aspects that deal with themes pertinent to the study were contemplated: the family, the formation of the human person, local development and development on a human scale. It can be seen that SAP represents an obstacle to the social formation of the human being, capable of causing serious psychosocial problems and the disempowerment of the individual. Thus, SAP affects the human dimension, which is considered a basic prerequisite for social development and, consequently, the local development of a community.
