Participation, Citizenship and Intergenerational Relations in Children and Young People's Lives

Research about children and young people's participation and involvement in research is an emerging area of academic inquiry. Based on the themes of participation, citizenship and intergenerational relations, this edited collection draws on the latest research in this area, and includes chapters co-authored with children and young people.

All the contributions make a powerful case both for empowering children and young people as researchers capable of generating knowledge about themselves and for the potential of intergenerational relations in academia. Children's literature scholars willing to contemplate possible synergies between their work and childhood studies will certainly find it an invaluable source of guidelines on how to pursue an academic practice that is capable of creating a real impact on the lives of both children and adults.
