Particularities of allopurinol-induced vascular purpura

Drug-induced vascular purpura constitutes less than 10% of vascular purpura. Allopurinol-induced vascular purpura is rare and studies concerning drug-induced vascular purpura, and in particular allopurinol-induced vascular purpura in the elderly, are few. The aim of our work is to study the clinical and paraclinical characteristics of allopurinol-induced vascular purpura, to determine the therapeutic modalities and to specify the evolutionary profile in the elderly subject and to identify the particularities of allopurinol-induced vascular purpura in the elderly subject with comparison with the young adult through two cases of allopurinol-induced vascular purpura in the elderly subject and a review of the literature
