Partnership's Roles & Challenges in Humanitarian & Development Context
Details
Challenges, principles, and benefits of humanitarian and development partnerships were identified as a result of the research. More than 50 organizations from different sectors that included government agencies, UN agencies, INGO, LNGO and other developmental consultancies that have close ties with humanitarian and development Organizations have provided their information. The results of the study suggest a knowledge deficit of partnership language and humanitarian principles. The findings indicated that most of the partnership principles described by respondents overlap with humanitarian principles. Despite the differences in language, the meaning is nearly identical. Transparency, mutual benefit, equality, respect, trust, professionalism, independence, neutrality, free and direct access to victims, a win-win situation, accountability, humanity, transparency, and impartiality are among the principles explored. The overwhelming majority of this applies to both humanitarian and development situations. Working in a partnership, according to the study's findings, has no disadvantages but does present challenges from various perspectives.
