Patent and Public Health

The author aspires that the present work should be utilized for bringing sunshines to the lives of down trodden. He also feels that the true success of the write up lies in implementation of the work for the improvement of the health conditions of millions of people dying each day due to lack of effective medical care and non access to proper health treatments.The author realises that it is the need of hour to promote investment in R&D of drugs and pharmaceuticals and to ensure availability and affordability of medicinal products to the public at large at a cost effective prices. Further, in order to invite people to invest in R&D they must be given some sort of protection so that they may ripe the fruits of their invention and investment by taking monetary benfits.Giving Patent Law protection to them may also serve the purpose. However, there is a great need to draw a balance between individual monetary interest and protection of Public health. Infact, it becomes mandate particularly, for the governments of develoing nations to draw out such a balance in order to keep the faith of the people intact in the notion of welfare state...

Il s'agit du premier livre de l'auteur. Il est titulaire d'une maîtrise en droit, a obtenu le diplôme UGC/JRF et poursuit un doctorat en droit de la propriété intellectuelle. Il a toujours manifesté un vif intérêt pour les études ; il a participé à divers séminaires, conférences et ateliers nationaux et internationaux et a rédigé un certain nombre d'articles et de documents de recherche.
