When nurses are overworked, they may not be able to provide the necessary attention and care that patients require, which can compromise patient safety. Furthermore, maintaining a culture of safety is crucial in healthcare settings. Nurses need support from their organizations to report errors or near misses without fear of retribution. A blame-free environment encourages learning from mistakes and implementing strategies to prevent future errors.
