Pattern Grammar

Sinclair (1966) states that the two interpenetrating ways of looking at language form are grammar and lexis. This book concentrates on the interaction between lexical items used in aviation English and their grammatical patterns. It aims to highlight lexis-grammar interface in aviation English. It provides an index of grammar patterns, and identifies collocated words which fall under each pattern supported by statistical information on both the patterns and the collocated words. Such index could assist the aviation English pedagogical designers in designing materials.
