The Pennsylvania Open Championship is the Pennsylvania state open golf tournament, open to both amateur and professional golfers. It is organized by the Pennsylvania Golf Association. It has been played annually since 1912 (except for war years) at a variety of courses around the state. It was considered a PGA Tour event in the 1920s and 1930s. The PGA Tour (officially rendered in all capital letters) is an organizer of the main men's professional golf tours in the United States and North America, including its flagship tour (which is also known as the PGA Tour, which it organizes most of its events for), the Champions Tour (for golfers age 50 and over, formerly known as the Senior PGA Tour), and the Nationwide Tour (for professional players who have not yet qualified to play in the PGA Tour). It is headquartered in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, a suburb of Jacksonville.
