Perceptions of a group of BECA REPARED scholarship recipients

During the period of political violence that our country experienced, multiple dimensions of national life were affected. One of the consequences was the impact on education. From the beginning, the Shining Path used some of the sectors of the educational system to spread its ideas and recruit militants. Schools and universities were used by this terrorist organization, each in a different way. On the other hand, many Peruvians were unable to attend school or university for various reasons. These range from the death of parents, to the abandonment of educational institutions in territories where political violence took place (Reynaga, 2008). In this sense, education, which is a fundamental right of every person, was violated in various ways. Research points out as the main psychosocial consequences of political violence: fear, mistrust, anxiety, depression, feeling of humiliation and devaluation, emotional and intellectual capacities were blocked, damage to personal identity, loss of memory, frequent forgetfulness.

Ho studiato Scienze Politiche presso l'Università Nazionale Federico Villarreal e studi post-laurea in Politiche Sociali presso l'Università di San Marcos. Sono stata volontaria durante il periodo di ricerca e ho anche lavorato per 4 anni presso il Ministero delle Donne e delle Popolazioni Vulnerabili con gli sfollati interni, vittime di violenza politica.
