Performance Analysis and Enhancement of Two-for-One Twister Machine

Yarn-twisting is one of the processes that increase the cohesive force of fabric by twisting fibers, thus protecting them from the tension generated at the time of weaving and knitting. The Two-for-One (TFO) twister is a machine conventionally used for yarn-twisting. The fiber is twisted twice per rotation of the spindle,so it is called a TFO twister machine.This book briefly describes the conventional setups used in existing TFO machine. The conventional TFO machine is modified with floating bush bearing instead of rolling element bearing in spindle bolster assembly for achieving higher speed, low friction and low vibration applications. The direct drive with speed controller is introduced for conventional traveler cam and end gear box. The extensive experimentation are carried out to evaluate temperature distribution, overall vibration and power consumption effect in conventional and modified machine mechanism. Motivation of this book is to analyze performance of conventional TFO machine and possible enhancement by reducing the power loss, temperature distribution and vibrations of various components of machine.
