Performance and potential of ethanol production in microdistilleries

The growing scarcity of fossil fuels has highlighted the need to diversify the global energy matrix. In this context, biofuel production is one of the energy alternatives. However, this alternative is not susceptible to a single interpretation, and there are differences of opinion about its consequences. Amid the debate, rural social movements have been conducting experiments that seek to combine biofuel production with increased income for small farmers.
