Performance Evaluation of a HVAC System in a Pharmaceutical Plant

In this work we have extensively studied the HVAC system of a pharmaceutical plant and calculated cooling load performance for every kilowatt of power consumption. We have also studied the complicated duct design that infallibly distributes and controls air circulation and distribution throughout the plant. We measured the performance of the existing system by considering the vital factors such as coefficient of performance (COP) of the chiller, the efficiency of the cooling towers, running cost of individual equipment and operating time and condition. We tentatively calculated cost accumulated from running the HVAC system from DESCO bills and evaluated if any suitable alteration might be suggested to lower the power consumption without hampering the system efficiency. Finally we also proposed some improvements that would improve the efficiency of the system and reduce harmful gas emission into the environment.

I am currently completing my Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. This book is based on the experimented work that was my undergraduate research in the field of renewable energy. It was presented the best Renewable Thesis Work in 2017 in my university and been published as an journal in many affiliations.
