Performance Evaluation of Thermal Power Corporations in India

In this book it is clearly discussed about the growth and development of power sector in India Plan-wise as well as Source-wise. Role and operational performance of Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation in generation of power since its inception to 2015 been discussed in this book. It is also discussed about the need of power sector reforms in India and the evaluation of power sector reforms in India as well as in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The financial performance of AP GENCO is measured with various Liquidity, Profitability, Turnover and Capital Structure ratios and appropriate suggestions are given for strengthening the AP GENCO. Profile of the selected organization (Dr. Narla Tata Rao Thermal Power Station) is given. The operational and the cost performance of the selected organization is measured with various suitable ratios. Inter and Intra comparison of 4 stages of power generation as well as the entire organization is also measured and various suggestions are given to the management to enhance the power generation as well as to lessen the cost.
