Performance Management in Total Productive Maintenance

Total productive maintenance become very important in services and manufacturing sectors increasing competition day by day. In today's climate it is not enough just to do total productive maintenance. It is also important efficiency of total productive maintenance has been questioned. The efficiency of maintenance affects directly the cost of production. Therefore, it is necessary to measure preventive maintenance efficiency in order to minimize the cost of unnecessary equipment, spare parts, consumable and workforce. In the first part study provides an introduction of maintenance and total productive maintenance. The second part study provides information and importance of performance management and total productive maintenance. The third part study described how to measure numerically the total productive maintenance efficiency. Chapter four shows case study and implementation theory to a real production facility. It contains conclusion in the end.
