Performance of Agriculture Development Organizations in Dadeldhura

Transformation of traditional and subsistence agriculture into commercial and market oriented production system needs efficient transfer of technology to the farmers. Efforts to bridge the gap between research and farmer's field have been lacking in Nepal and the performance of the organizations providing extension services to the farmers is below par, the reason behind which is still to be studied. Thus to assess the performance of development organizations, Dadeldhura district of Nepal was selected purposely for this study. The efforts of various government and non government organizations for agriculture development were analyzed to generate picture of current scenario and their effectiveness. Also farmers view about such organizations were collected and summarized.

Mr. Gokul Prashad Bohara has obtained his Masters degree in Agriculture Economics in 2011 from Institute of Agriculture and Animal Sciences, Rampur, Nepal. He has been working as Agriculture Extension Officer under department of agriculture, Nepal since 2011.
