Performance of CRDI & HCCI Engine
Details
Demand for the petroleum products is increasing continuously at global level and their existence comes to an end soon in future. Also they produce large amounts of exhaust emissions when used in internal combustion (IC) engines. Diesel engines in particular emit higher quantity of toxic engine out gases which are harmful to living things especially human beings. Therefore it is very urgent to find feasible, sustainable and renewable energy resources to solve the above two concerns mentioned. Use of non-edible oils for diesel engines is preferred over edible oils as they are in great demand by food processing industry. Since few decades, use of biodiesels has received considerable attention as a potential Eco-friendly substitute to diesel. But they have the drawbacks like lower volatility and higher viscosity (nearly twice or more than diesel). Feasibility studies on the use of biodiesel extracted from non-edible oils as an alternative fuel to diesel in compression ignition (CI) engines has been discussed in this research work.
