Peri-implantitis

The incidence of peri-implantitis is now becoming increasingly common with the rapid placement of dental implants in all conditions and situations world over.There is little doubt that as the length of time of implants in vivo increases, the incidence of this condition will also further increase. Peri-implantitis is a progressive and irreversible disease of implant-surrounding hard and soft tissues and is accompanied with bone resorption, decreased osseointegration, increased pocket formation and purulence.
