Peri-urban land in the face of urbanization in the Haut-Sassandra

The State, master of the urban game, imposed the allotment as the only way to create urban space.It is within this framework that administrative subdivisions were carried out at the initiative of the Mayor or the Sub-Prefect. With the consolidation of customary rights in 2014, the State gives village communities, customary developers and private operators the possibility of initiating subdivisions to the detriment of the administration(Mairie or Sous-préfecture). The transition from administrative allotments carried out by the State to allotments initiated by landowners has led to socio-economic issues. The anarchy that is observed in land management leads to the growth of the illegal land market and urban agriculture on undeveloped land, which makes the urban landscape ugly.
