Perioperative Neurosciences: Translational Research examines current clinical research focused on complications and the improvement of patient outcomes in neuroanesthesia and neurocritical care. The book addresses important translational topics including neuroanesthetics, pharmacogenomics, neuroprotection and neurotoxicity. In addition, it covers special considerations for topics such as stroke, traumatic brain injury and pain, as well as for specific patient populations like geriatric and pediatric.

Dr. Hemanshu Prabhakar, MD, PhD, FSNCC, is a Professor at the Department of Neuroanaesthesiology and Critical Care at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, India. He is a recipient of the AIIMS Excellence Award 2012 for his notable contribution to academia and has published over 350 papers in peer-reviewed national and international journals. Dr. Prabhakar is a Reviewer for various national and international journals and is also a Review Author for the Cochrane Collaboration. He has a special interest in the evidence-based practice of neuroanesthesia and ERAS. Dr. Prabhakar is a Member of various national and international neuroanesthesia societies and is the Past Secretary of the Indian Society of Neuroanesthesia and Critical Care (ISNACC) and the Society of Neurocritical Care (SNCC). He is also the Immediate Past President of the SNCC. To date, he has published more than 25 books on neuroanesthesia and neurocritical care. He is featured in the Limca Book of Records as a prolific Writer in the field of neuroanesthesiology. He actively collaborates on research activities among the low-income and middle-income countries.
Charu Mahajan, MBBS, MD, DM is currently working as an Additional Professor in the Department of Neuroanaesthesiology and Critical Care at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. She has research experience of over a decade backing her profile and has been awarded with the prestigious NBM Gold medal in the subject of surgery in the year 2003. She has more than 50 publications to her name in the form of books and journal alike. She is also the reviewer of various prestigious national journals like the Neurology India and Indian Journal of Anaesthesia and is the member of various scientific bodies such as the SNACC, ISNACC and ISA.Indu Kapoor, MBBS, MD from the prestigious institute Lady Hardinge Medical College [LHMC] and MD from UCMS Delhi is currently serving as an Additional Professor in the department of Neuroanaesthesiology and Critical Care at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. She has more than 80 research papers published in national and international journals across the globe and numerous chapter contributions in reputed titles. She has also been awarded with the reputed Dr. TN. JHA Memorial Award by the Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists and Smt. Chandra and Sh. Narayan Wadhwani Memorial Award.
