Perspectives of Educational Policy Making and Analysis

This book is a contribution to development of a skilled cadre of educational Planning, Educational policy decision makers in Tanzania and Elsewhere. Thus, heads of educational agencies, inspectors of education may find this book useful as it can enhance their decision skills ability. Education is perceived as the engine of economic growth and social prosperity. However, the ideological shift of the 1980s towards the private sector and redefined roles of the state has caused growing inequality and educational problems associated with poverty. Much of this inequality can be attributed to the skewed allocation of resources within the educational sector. This book therefore will introduce educational policy makers, planners and students to issues, topics, institutions and policy responses to educational problems in Tanzania. It will also provide an overall understanding of policy-making and policy analysis in education and educational system in general. It will also analyze the constraints that affect educational policies under liberalized economy, as well as develop practical skills in policy making and policy analysis in Tanzania.

Kambuga Yusuph holds MA Educational Management & Administration from the University of Dar es salaam attained in 2008 & BA. Education from College of Education Zanzibar attained in 2004. Currently he is serving as an assistant lecturer - College of Education, University of Dodoma. He is a specialist in Educational Management and Policy Studies.
