Perspectives on Teaching and Researching Translation
Details
This book includes case study research papers on translation and translation pedagogy. Part one handles Problems of identifying the needed skills for novice translators, problems of rendering implicatures in translating literary texts, and problems of translating the labels of linguistic terminology. The second part of the book presents case study research papers on educational issues in translation; a survey of the strategies employed by university students in studying translation and of the teaching techniques used by university instructors in training students on translation, an analysis of EFL university students' errors in translating Arabic referential pronouns, and using visual translation to enhance listening comprehension of literary texts for EFL university students. Combing sound research with state-of-the-art practice, this book is widely applicable for EFL and translation programs around the world.
