Petroleum Pollution Removal Using Immobilized Bacterial Cells

Bioremediation of petroleum polluted water using bacteria aims to convert this pollution to water and carbon dioxide, but using free bacterial cells in water led to wash it away and decrease bacterial efficiency. Immobilized bacterial cells into solid surface can increase bacterial cells stability and efficiency in petroleum bioremediation. In this book, we will learn how the immobilized cells enhance bioremediation of petroleum pollution in contaminated water.
