Every individual, knowingly or unknowingly applies philosophy in one's life. This book is a compilation of seven different articles. A man needs no academic training in philosophy to understand the basic questions he faces. Philosophy itself is not a choice, but it leaves room open for us to be on our own choice. The second chapter of the book takes up a brief account of the life and work of Bertrand Russell, one of the founding fathers of the analytic trend. The third chapter tries to apply logic as a methodical tool for solving various philosophical problems.The fourth chapter is a humble attempt to see the threats to human values and environment due to the progress of modern science and technology. The last chapter highlights a special region of India, i. e. Assam. This chapter is a study of environment as a resource' with particular reference to Assam which is one of the richest biodiversity hotspot areas of India. Man-environment interaction' in Assam regarding the mentioned areas faces different hazards and possible solutions can be intended to think out.
