Phosphate Solubilizing Fungi As Biofertilizer
Details
Microbiological fertilizers are an important part of environment friendly sustainable agricultural practices. A field experiment was conducted at Department of Botany, Jinnah University For Women, Karachi, Pakistan, to study the effect of different agro-waste residual based biofertilizer on growth and physiological functioning of mung bean (vigna radiata L.) plant. All residues were composted with Aspergillus niger to form biodegradable bio fertilizer. This procedure increased the nutrient contents in composted material as compare to un-composted organic food waste. The experiment was basically performed to investigate the potentiality of Phosphate solubilizing fungi (PSF) composted biofertilizer to solubilized available Phosphorus, applied in the form of NPK with reference to the growth & nutritional status of green gram. Results showed that most of the growth & yield component of mung bean viz. root length, shoot length, fresh weight, dry weight, primary metabolites, photosynthetic pigments and mineral contents were significantly influence by composted bio fertilizer treatment.
