Phosphonates

Although the discovery of phosphorus probably dates back to the 12th century, at the court of King Henry II, a German glassmaker named Hennig Brand discovered it in 1669 while searching for the famous philosopher's stone. This book is aimed at chemistry students and specialists alike. It covers the origin of phosphorus, its different allotropic forms, its abundance in nature, and the organic chemistry of phosphonate synthesis and its various applications.
