Details

This book summarizes my M.Phil work that was carried out in University of the Punjab, Lahore. There are five chapters in this book. Chapter 1 describes the basic ideas and history about the preparation of phosphate glasses. Chapter 2 of this book is about the common features of amorphous and glassy materials. In this chapter, theoretical background of solids such as amorphous semiconductor theory is discussed in detail. Possible conduction mechanism such as, Zener Effect, Injection of Carrier, whole injection is also discussed. Chapter 3 is about the past present and future of phosphate glasses. Photoconductivity and its various types are discussed in Chapter 4. Intrinsic and Extrinsic Photoconductivity, Electrons transition, absorption and excitation effect of trapping, negative photoconductivity and spectrophoto meter are discussed in detail. Experimental detail related to density, ZnO (mol %) and energy band gap are given in Chapter 5. It is our hope that the current book serves as a reference for all researcher for the technologists as well as researcher interested in various approaches for preparation of glass and their properties.
