Details

The practice of physical activity and its beneficial effects on the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular risk factors, including obesity, has been fully demonstrated. However, it is usually referred to the general population. Subjects with mental deficiency are generally excluded from these evaluations and demonstrations, both in terms of the beneficial effects and the preventive proposals that would derive from them. Thus, it is evident that an unfair situation has been generated that increases to a greater extent the already existing difficulties in their full social inclusion. In this sense, all this led to the possibility of proposing to investigate the anthropometric modifications in people with mental deficiency who participate in a program of systematic physical activity.
