Phytochemical Investigation on Roots of Lantana camara

Since the creation of mankind, the use of traditional medicinal plants for treatment of different health problems have been a common practice. Despite their natural toxicity, the effectiveness of these plants in such practice began to attribute to the development of science and medicine, mainly in developing new drugs. Still, many organic products from the plant kingdom are being studied , isolated and classified following scientific procedures by different scientists in different parts of the world, where Organic Chemists play a great role. Therefore, this book introduces a new organic compound from the plant Lantana camara, one of the traditional medicinal plants used in Ethiopia and other parts of the world. The isolation, the extraction and the structural elucidation techniques used provide clear and detailed information for professionals in the field of phytochemistry. In addition, the book also initiates interested Organic Chemists for further investigation and potential Biochemists for bio-assay works.
